Easter time is filled with family traditions, and you can create your own this Easter! It is also an amazing time to celebrate the coming of spring and spend some quality time with your family.
Here are our ideas to have an eggcelent Easter break with your family:
Of course, we start with the golden Easter tradition: decorating eggs! Sit down as a family and spend time painting and decorating Easter eggs. If you don’t want to paint eggs, you can also paint rocks and use them as decorations around your house.
What to do with those eggs you painted, don’t worry! What about hiding them around and make children run around to find them? Sounds fun, right? The Easter Egg Hunt is a classic part of most families’ traditions, and it is the perfect balance between cozy family time and a little bit of competition! If you have younger kids, hiding colorful Easter eggs (or egg-shaped chocolates) around your backyard would be a great idea. You can also come together with other families and organize an egg hunt at a park for more social interaction! If your kids are older, you can turn this Easter Egg Hunt into a scavenger hunt with clues and/or puzzles to find the eggs.
Springtime is the best time to travel into a lot of countries with perfect temperatures of not too warm or not too cold. Also, since it is typically off-season, traveling and accommodation won’t be as expensive as summer months. If you’d like to spend your Easter break on a nice family vacation or a weekend getaway, we’ve got some destination recommendations for the perfect spring vacation ready.
You can start Easter Sunday with a delicious Easter brunch! Making funfetti pancakes, hot cross buns or trying different Easter Brunch menus as a family will kick-start your day in the best way!
Bring out your aprons and mixers, and get bakin’! You can spend your morning baking Easter Egg cookies, chick cupcakes, or making your own chocolate! You can also find chocolate workshops around a lot of cities and take your whole family so they can learn about and work with chocolate hands-on!
If you have a backyard or a garden, eating outside or having a picnic at a park is always a great idea in springtime. Combine this picnic with games and crafts to make it Easter-fun! You can pack your sweet treats, Easter egg decorations, egg hunt, and fun outdoor games altogether to have one mega-easter-eggstravaganza!
Another family arts & crafts activity can be DIY (do-it-yourself) Easter cards for your friends & family. You can use all your imagination with your kids and use fresh flowers, glitter, colorful papers, or anything you’d like! Easter baskets would probably be more fun (and a little bit more expensive) to put together, but it is definitely a thoughtful Easter gift for your loved ones, as well as a great teaching moment for your kids.
Bring the Easter spirit into your home with colorful decorations around your house! Fresh flowers, spring decorations, painted Easter eggs, or colorful candles will rejuvenate your home and your moods. You can make this a family activity and use your kids’ creative artwork as decorations as well!
Easter symbolizes rebirth and renewal, so you can decorate your garden with colorful flowers like tulips, daffodils, or crocus. Gardening can also be a nice activity to spend time outdoors in the warm spring weather and get your kids’ hands dirty.
