If you're travelling by car, wherever you're headed, a car seat is crucial to ensure your little one's safety while you're on the road.
Only EU-approved height-based child car seats can be used in the United Kingdom. These have a label showing a capital 'E' in a circle and' R129'.
We're recommended to choose a baby car seat before your baby is born if possible. Or you can rent from us before you buy. So you can rent the most suitable seat for your baby and car and use it only when you need it. Also, renting a baby car seat can be a flexible way for your child every age, weight and height.
If you have your baby in a hospital or a birth centre, you will need a car seat to drive your newborn home safely. It's a good idea to practise fitting the seat before your baby is born.
They must be rear-facing until your child is over 15 months old. Your child can use a forward-facing child car seat when they're over 15 months old.
Children must usually use a child car seat until they're 12 years old or 135 centimetres tall, whichever comes first. Children over 12 or more than 135cm tall must wear a seat belt.
The seat your child can use (and the way they must be restrained in it) depends on their weight.
You may be able to choose from more than one type of seat in the group for your child's weight.

At birth, the infant's head is around a quarter of their total length and about a third of their body weight. Infants require their own specialised designed to cradle them in a crash and provide protection from many types of crashes. A rear-facing child restraint system (sometimes called an "infant car seat") offers the best protection for infants until they are both 1 year of age and at least 13kg in weight. For the best protection, infants should be kept rear-facing for as long as possible. The safest place for infants is in the back seat in an approved rear-facing infant car seat. They start as rear-facing car seats for newborns and tiny babies, then as your child grows. You can move the car seat to front-facing once they're about 2 years old (which is recommended), but you can also keep them rear-facing until they are about 4 years old. These seats are a popular choice due to their flexible nature. Still, it's worth keeping in mind that you cannot carry them like you can with 0+ car seats, and you will also need a separate pushchair. Click to view our products.
Group 2 and 3 car seats are perfect for older children who need a boost to ensure the seatbelt is in the right position to keep them safe. These are high backed booster seats but without the integral harness. They're typically lightweight, making them easy to move between cars, and are adjustable to keep your growing child comfortable.
While high backed booster seats are recommended for better protection, backless booster seats can be a useful, lightweight backup for children at this age when their car seat is not available, such as being in a friend's car.
Currently, most child restraint systems are designed to be installed using the car seat belt. ISOFIX is a system that uses purpose-designed mounting points provided in the car to attach the child restraint with a rigid mechanism, rather than using the seat belt to secure the bond. ISOFIX is increasingly used in the world.
With ISOFIX, the risk of installing a car seat mistakenly is more negligible compared to using your car’s seat belt.
For baby car seats, you will need an additional car seat base to use ISOFIX. Most first-time parents install their baby car seats correctly, thanks to the easy-to-use ISOFIX base. For toddler car seats, you can either choose a car seat installed with your car’s seat belt or with ISOFIX. For child car seats, you can select an ISOFIX car seat in addition to the seat belt, for a more stable seat.
ISOFIX ensures minimal risk of incorrect installation, as indicators indicate a correct structure. A permanent connection between our car seat and the car, in case of a sudden brake, less force will impact on your little one. Quick installation and easy removal are particularly convenient for baby car seats, thanks to the ISOFIX base. Click & Go structure enables you to fit our baby car seat onto the base with a simple “click”, and you are ready to “go”.
