The era of traveling stress-free with babies has begun! Without wasting more time, here is your new baby-friendly city guide for your next trip with babies on board to London!
Natural History Museum
Being one of the three major museums located in Kensington, London's Natural History Museum houses around 70 million artifacts divided into five major collections. This museum is a must-see for all families traveling to the British capital with their kids. The exterior building alone is a source of amazement and wonder, but the interior will be even more! The only problem with this museum, honestly speaking, is that it is almost impossible to visit it all in one day. Luckily, the entrance is free, so we recommend you go back more than once to experience and discover it fully. Here you can admire life-size reproductions of dinosaurs that sometimes also move, entire rooms dedicated to the world of mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and much more! In addition, there are educational and interactive games and workshops for families and their kids. Fascinating temporary exhibitions are also periodically organized and, who knows, maybe during your visit you will be lucky enough to see one! The Natural History Museum is pretty easy to reach, thanks to the metro. In fact, it is located about a 5-minute walk distance from one of the stops.
Greenwich
It is a district of London located on the banks of the River Thames where you can find numerous points of interest. For starters, you can visit the National Maritime Museum, where reproductions of ships, maps, and finds from explorations and adventures at sea are exhibited. The second destination we suggest is the nineteenth-century sailing ship Cutty Sark which, in the second half of the 1800s, sailed on the route of the Indies for the trade of tea and wool. Lastly, a place you cannot skip is the Royal Observatory, where the Greenwich Meridian passes, also known in the entire world as the "Zero" Meridian. To make this area more beautiful, there are breathtaking panoramas and immense green expanses. These are also equipped for tourists, making Greenwich the ideal destination for a quiet day with the family!
Warner Bros Tour London
London is the ideal destination for all Harry Potter fans and lovers. In several points of the British capital, in fact, some elements refer to the saga or have been directly included in the movies themselves!
Stop number 1: King's Cross Station, where you can visit the famous platforms 9 and 3/4 and take pictures in the famous location. Stop number
2: Leicester Square, where there is a statue of Harry Potter. Stop number
3: Leadenhall Market, where there is a shop where the scenes of the leaky Cauldron were shot, that is, the known Diagon Alley pub where the wizards met.
An additional destination you cannot miss, however, is the Warner Bros Studio Tour London. Here you can relive the scenes and the life of the Harry Potter movies thanks to the different settings, costumes, and many other curiosities of the sets of the famous saga!
Bill’s
Here you can eat dishes of English cuisine, all prepared with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Bill's is the perfect place to have a good brunch without spending too much money and try the typical English breakfast. If you have never eaten it at least once in your life, you should definitely try it! Also, what is a trip to London without eating English breakfast in the morning? Some special attention is also given to the little ones. Here you will find a menu specifically for them and highchairs.
Poppies Fish & Chips
The owner and founder of this venue started his career in the fish and chip business back in 1952 when he was only 11 years old. For this reason, the interior of the building is characterized by a particular retro vibe and iconic looks from the past decades. Poppies have the reputation of serving some of the finest fish and chips in the entire city of London, so be prepared for some tasty food! The quality of the fish, the traditional preparation, and the precise cooking methods are the keys to their success! The menu also has a section for smaller portions of favorites for your kids!
Brompton Food Market
Another really delicious place we recommend is Brompton Food Market. As the name suggests, before being a place where people also eat, it mainly consisted of a simple food market that was only later converted into a restaurant. Here they use only the very best ingredients with which they prepare seasonal food and super tasty dishes! For the little ones, a dedicated menu has been created so that no family member will leave this place unsatisfied.
